Pavan (he/him) comes to MEJC after almost a decade in nonprofit and government spaces, particularly focused around immigration, education and environmental advocacy.

Development Manager

Kareem Scales (he/him) is the Development Manager at MEJC where he leads all of the organizations fundraising development and donor relations.

Ayanna-Grace King

Environmental Justice Organizer

Ayanna-Grace (she/them) is an urban farmer by trade and organizer by passion. She has a diverse 10 year background in teaching, climate justice and social justice. Ayanna-Grace began her career as a teenage art teacher.

Kyle Whyte

Board Member

Kyle Whyte (he/him) is an environmental justice organizer, educator, and researcher, currently serving as the George Willis Pack Professor at the University of Michigan, where he teaches in the environmental justice graduate program.

Mona Munroe-Younis

Mona Munroe-Younis is Founder and Executive Director at Environmental Transformation Movement of Flint (ETM Flint), a Flint, MI nonprofit dedicated to growing diverse grassroots environmental justice leaders and just relationships to secure a healthy, sustainable future by and for Flint residents.

Gloria J Lowe (she/her) is the founder and president of We Want Green Too which has served veterans and returning citizens for over 14 years.

Jumana Vasi

Jumana Vasi, MS, is the Principal at JVasi Consulting, LLC. For seven years she has been helping nonprofits design and implement programs and strategies to take advantage of, and respond to, current political, social, and economic realities.

Anne Marie Hertl

Deputy Director

Anne Marie Hertl (she/they) joins the MEJC team leveraging a decade of non-profit experience working as an organizer and regional activist to support social justice movement building throughout the environmental sector in Michigan.
