Andrew Kaplowitz

Andrew Kaplowitz is an Ashkenazi Jew living in Wawiyaatanong (so-called Detroit). As Organizing Director at MEJC Andrew focuses on helping to build healthy communities for those most impacted by environmental injustice across Michigan. Their approach centers and harmonizes with broader movements to advance Black liberation and Indigenous sovereignty. Andrew is co-founder of the Great Lakes Water Protector Network and their creative practices are rooted in the values of doykait.
