Dana Mohammad

Just Transition Associate

Growing up in and around Detroit, Dana witnessed first hand the intersections between food, climate, economic, and reproductive justice. Dana worked to expand voter access and foster civic engagement in disenfranchised communities with low-voter turnout. She also organized with groups like Detroit Eviction Defense and the People's Water Board Coalition to protect the right to housing and clean water. She led GOTV efforts with Planned Parenthood to ensure the election of progressive candidates, and has built cross-disciplinary bridges with community stakeholders because she believes that positive change is attainable. She served on Governor Whitmer's Women's Commission Millennial Advisory Board, and founded the City of Dearborn Height's Commission on Women and Girls. She also served on the board of the League of Women Voters. Dana is passionate about building an equitable world, and believes that it starts with the fight for environmental justice.
