Jumana Vasi

Jumana Vasi, MS, is the Principal at JVasi Consulting, LLC. For seven years she has been helping nonprofits design and implement programs and strategies to take advantage of, and respond to, current political, social, and economic realities. She has worked for a diverse range of foundations and nonprofits including the Builders Initiative, Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative, Ecology Center, Institute for Sustainable Communities, JPB Foundation, Midwest Environmental Justice Network, National Audubon Society, Surdna Foundation, and We the People of Detroit.
Jumana was previously a program officer in the C. S. Mott Foundation’s Environment Program. She spent over eight years managing the Great Lakes grantmaking program which focused on the protection of lakes, rivers, and wetlands. In response to the drinking water crisis in Flint, Jumana developed a new grantmaking area to help communities deliver safe, affordable, and efficient water services to all residents. Jumana’s past professional experience also includes working at two community-based organizations in Chicago and assisting on environmental justice projects at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Jumana previously served on the boards of the Americana Foundation, Environmental Grantmakers Association, and River Network. She currently serves on the boards of Fund to Build Grassroots Power, Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, and the National Center for Healthy Housing.
