Wesley Watson is a dedicated advocate for social justice with a background in public health education, community organizing, and grassroots activism. Wesley currently serves as the Co-Founder of Watson's Consulting LLC, helping grassroots Black and Brown organizations in the Midwest area with state and federal policies on climate justice efforts and grant writing efforts, and educating communities on decarbonization. Wesley's principles and foundation are based on the teaching of Stokely Carmichael: "The job of the conscious is to make the unconscious conscious."
He recently served as a GOTV Director For Michigan Action Fund, helping make voting easy on 42 colleges and universities in Michigan. He also served as Engagement Manager for the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, where he focused on involving underrepresented communities in the state’s circular economy investments and managing grant projects related to climate action. Previously, he held positions with the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, For Our Future, and NextGen America, addressing issues such as environmental justice, healthcare access, criminal justice reform, and voting rights advocacy. Also serves as the Michigan Democratic Party Environmental Caucus Chair, Co-Founder and board member of Grand Rapids Community Collaboration on Climate Change, and board member at West Michigan Environmental Action Council.
